My mother has been searching for authentic American Indian music for some time since she had to present a project for her teaching career. Every other American Indian cd she purchased wasn’t what she was looking for or just had 1-3 real authentic songs. Then I found this! It’s exactly what she was in search of! Lots of authentic tracks and at a great price!

I love the sound of the recordings on this CD. My favorites are the Navajo Hoop Dance Song, which has an entrancing verse melody and rhythm and also the group-sung Shawnee Stomp Song, which sounds like a long-lost cousin to some early African American songs I have heard. I discovered this visiting the lone prarie, so it has special meaning to me.
The recording quality varies but most songs sound excellent. One can always read about the music in other sources since the info on the inside cover here is very general.
